Cancel Culture:
From a person whose comments
on a neighborhood chat
were taken down.
This is what he said.
"You Have Been Cancelled. It appears that my (our) post about being proud and patriotic Americans was deemed offensive and removed. Congratulations, you have been cancelled. It wasn't just a post that was cancelled. Neighbors shared their heartfelt stories, their history, their families, their spirit, and their love for each other. They have cancelled you, your family, your history, and your beliefs in just one click. Welcome to the modern day "cancel culture." They will cancel you, your children, your parents, your beautiful moments, and anything you hold dear. Am I offended about this? No, I'm hurt and disappointed for all of us. It wasn't just words being erased, it was history, your history. It was what makes you, you, that was erased. Its been stamped out, removed from existence, forever banned and hidden for all time. This is what the cancel culture is trying to destroy. We see it alive and well here today. A post about being patriotic toppled and burnt to the ground by those who deem your history and beliefs to be irrelevant. Trampled on, erased, and tossed in the waste bin like useless trash. I have news for you; you do matter, your history matters, and your feelings matter, all of them, left and right. Even those who posted opposite beliefs to mine, those were wiped out too. That matters to me. Am I crazy, over-sensitive, feeling like a victim, or over-reacting here? I would like to hear your thoughts on this if you can spare a moment."
